Kaylee's INVITING you! :)

well actually, she invited a bunch (read: 14!) teens to a bowling party for a friend's daughter's birthday, and *I* was asked to make the invitations!

so here's the invitation, using the gorje
Balloon Kaylee (the second version) from SomeOddGirl.com!

and here are some of the FOURTEEN of 'em, each
hand-coloured and fussy-cut with lots of love!

WHEW! that was a project! i was very happy with the way they turned out, and i hope the girls liked 'em, too! i did the thank you cards as well, but goofy me forgot to snap photos before dropping 'em in my friend's mailbox so her daughter could send them out. they used the same papers and colours, with more of the red and white/beige button combos to match. :)

so these, my pretties, are for:
Paper Pretties challenge - they want you to make an invitation or party card - i certainly did that! :D
DYSU - inspired by a movie (The Red Balloon)
Papertake Weekly challenges - BINGO! (buttons, free space and punch)

and now i'm off to play with some more goodies and i plan on watching Hugo tonight. hope you've all had a lovely weekend! OH, by the way, did you see that there's a very special DIGI at SomeOddGirl.com? CLICK HERE to see what our darling Kristy came up with as a special treat for our Facebook Fun Day Event yesterday! :D

good ol' Papa T

a father's day card for my Papa-in-law, which my husband filled out, signed and sealed, without letting me sign my name. HOW RUDE! but how PERFECT are these BasicGrey OXFORD papers, seriously?

ah well, he knows it was from me anyway, and he thanked me, despite my doofy husband. and woo flippin' HOO, i love these Kraft Fun Day strips from MME! what a fabby little pack of happiness! :)

playing along with the challenges at:

The Pink Elephant - they have a photo inspiration challenge:

(i liked the red and the arrangement of fruits and fruit bars on the plate - the specs reminded me of that!)

Creative Card Crew - easy as 1, 2, 3 (i have 1 punch, 2 patterned papers, 3 border strips)
BasicGrey Challenges - Clean and Simple (this is VERY minimalistic for me!)

yep, just a quick post from me for now... i'm going to finish working on a card to inspire for our Some Odd Girl Facebook Fun Day event, coming up this SATURDAY! :) CLICK HERE for the challenge leading up to the event, so you can get your project done and share it with us on our Facebook wall when the fun kicks off! :D

for the VP!

had to put a little something special together for the VP of my bank, whose birthday dinner i'll be attending tomorrow night. didn't know where to go with it, but found some Glitz stamps on clearance at A.C. Moore, grabbed some of my pretty new papers (i do love me some BasicGrey), found a couple of challenges to get me revved up, and here we are!

didn't like the layers on their own, so i inked up a doily and thought it gave the card a more feminine touch - just what i needed! but then, what else? i loves me the dimension and extras, so a little pompom trim, some twine, the butterfly Bottlecap Inc. pretties, bling and a charm were in order:

and that, seriously, is all she wrote. i struggled more with writing the message inside the card than i did putting it together! and THANK YOU for the inspiration, from the following challenge sites:
Crafty Creations - "How Charming!"
Stampalot Challenge - BINGO! i have Turquoise, Polka Dots and Brown
Stampin' for the Weekend - Bugs and Butterflies (i don't have a stamped IMAGE, but the distressed lace on the back panel is stamped)

later, taters!

we have a SKETCH CHALLENGE at Designed to Color!

yep, you're invited! the COLOR CREW (that's me and the girls!) at Designed to Color has a brand new challenge for you! Lizzie put together this FABTASTIC sketch for the June/July issue (which is out NOW! have you subscribed yet?!), and we are giving away a $15 shopping spree to the By Lori Designs shop! have you seen Lori Boyd's images? SUPER CUTE!

wanna play along? here's the sketch:

(told you it was fab!)

and here's what i did with this little beauty, with a slightly
minimalistic approach, which is kinda rare for me, dontcha think?

i used the little turtle/snail duo from the Hey Kaylee! clear stamp set from Some Odd Girl, colored 'em up all nice-nice with my Copics, repurposed a tag from a pair of Dockers, stamped a smidge with some bubble wrap, inked some edges and doctored my card up with some doo-dads from my stash and PRESTO! fun sketch interpretation that i hope will inspire you! :D

here are the little critters up close:

Copics used:

Turtle: YG01, YG23, YG25, N4, E02, I11, E33, E71, E74

Snail: N1, N4, 0, BG11, BG15

CLICK HERE to see some more fun samples from the Color Crew, and you have until July 14th to play along!

annnnd i'm jumpin' in on the challenges at:
Cupcake Craft Challenges - they want to see an EYELET on your projects!
Little Miss Muffet Challenges - they want lots of LAYERS (i have 8, plus the trim)

isn't she LOVELY?! another Some Odd Girl digi!

getting all reacquainted with my Copics again, because honestly, i haven't been doing NEARLY enough colouring lately. i had a BIG project to complete for a contestant in the Miss New Jersey pageant, and i felt a whole lot of pressure to do something grand and elaborate. in the end, everything worked out great and the contestant was very happy with my creation/gift, so i'm pleased, but MOSTLY i'm glad to breathe a sigh of relief having delivered the goods! i'm not sure how i got roped into it in the first place - hubbin was asked to help the girl's parents come up with a float idea/design, and he asked if i could come along since i was a creative kinda gal, and the next thing i knew, i had developed the idea for the parade float AND volunteered to make a scepter from scratch! no photos to share yet, but hopefully hubbin will come home with some good ones from the parade so i can add this to my little portfolio of strange but cool accomplishments. :)

SO!

like i said, breathing a huge sigh of relief, and very happy to be getting back to my humble little cards! yesterday's card was the first of many for this week, because we have a gorgeous summery release at Some Odd Girl, PLUS a new Charisma challenge tomorrow (Wednesday) night, and i have some other assignments for co-workers. BUSY!

annnnnd i'm rambling, so i think it's time i just shared my project, don't you? this one's for Day Two of our summer digi release at Some Odd Girl, and i enjoyed colouring this little miss MUCH more than i'd anticipated! pleats still manage to elude me, but i don't think i botched this one up too badly. ;)

heeeeeeeere's Tropical Mae!

(lurrrrrrrve those Piccadilly papers from BG!)

and a close up of the lady of the hour:

isn't she LOVELY?! (the image itself, with the pretty flowy dress, that gorje flower, and that saucy little pose showing off her gams!) she was a ton of fun to colour, and quite similar to our Nouveau Girls (if you haven't heard of them, or aren't familiar, but love the elaborate gowns and pleats, you REALLY ought to CLICK HERE!).

anywho, she's the second of our four digis this week, and you could win her by leaving a comment on our BLOG POST (just remember to answer the question - one each day!). there's still time to get in on yesterday's giveaway too (CLICK CLICK CLICK), and we still have two more to share!

Tropical Mae can be added to your shopping cart or your wish list right now, along with three other new pretties! if i can get a decent amount of sleep and manage to roll out of bed at a decent time tomorrow, i should have another project to share, but in the meantime, i'm entering my bright and summery card at:

Raise the Bar - they're looking for SUMMER inspired creations
Papercrafting Journey - hand-colored creations

and with that, i'm off to bed! 'night, chickens! xo

HELLOOOOOOO and happy monday, peeps! hope you've all had a lovely weekend filled with fun and friends and family and, dare i say, CRAFTING! :) the weekend FLEW by, and i have a slight case of the Monday blues, espesh since i'm working a late shift this week (10:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. - NOT my favourite). sure, i get to sleep in a little bit, but i still end up tired in the evenings. ah well, it's just for the week, and i won't have to do it again for another 3 months.

SO. whatcha been up to around the blogosphere? did you happen to notice that we have a new DIGI release at Some Odd Girl? :D well it's true! gettin' busy with CHA preparations, another digi release made more sense instead of clear this time around, so we hope you digi lovers are excited! i lurrrrrve this release, and i'm thrilled we kick off today with my girl, Kaylee... check her out!

Some Odd Girl
has a fabby little COLOR INSPIRATION CHALLENGE going on now through Thursday, June 28th, and we're inviting YOU to get your splash on! :)

here's my card, using the utterly gorgeous Under The Sea Mae (i flippin' LURRRRVE this set, folks, and you're gonna see it a lot in my prodgies!):

and a close up of Miss Mae, 'cuz i had OODLES of fun colouring her with my Copics!
(yep, COPICS, you read that right!):

OH! and we mustn't forget her little friend!

isn't he ADORBS?! i was quite insistent when the topic of summer releases came up that we needed a seahorse. and Kristy DELIVERED! (the narwhal, however, was just an added bonus!) i wanted to go for a shimmery look without actually using shimmer, so i opted for little white dots all over... what do you think? i kinda dig it, but i'm not sure i achieved what i was after. at any rate.... our challenge! here we are - a little colour inspiration for you:

yeah, you can see why i HAD to go sea-themed, right? the papers were just right (thanks, Cosmo Cricket and Fancy Pants!), and i had those teeny little strips left from a previous project that were just BEGGING to be stuck down!

SO. here's what you can win:

3 digis (winnah's choice!) to the randomly drawn participant (WOOT!)

and for the creator of our fave creation, RENEW!

yep. you WANT to get in on this action! well if you don't already OWN any Some Odd Girl stamps (clear or digital), you're also in luck, because we have a SALE going on! use the code WEEKEND at checkout and get 25% off all digital images! SomeOddGirl.com - go go go! remember, you must use a Some Odd Girl stamp in your project to play along with our challenges.
