Monday is full of... STUFF!

really. just LOTS of stuff to share.
first of all, i have an ear infection. it's thrown off my equilibrium all day, and my jaw is sore and it hurts to chew.
plus it's raining, and that is ALWAYS bad news for my poor noggin and my achin' bones. i've had arthritis in my legs for many years already. i hate to imagine what i'll be like at 60.

second, it's CHALLENGE DAY! Mondays are always Color Challenge days at Design Dollies, so today, i offer you THIS...
Orange, Brown and a Neutral (white, black, ivory, kraft, grey, whatever):

of course, i had to throw my colour in there - i don't think orange has made an appearance at all this month, and this is the LAST Color Challenge for February!

my card:

ALL SCRAPS. and i used my brand, spankin' new Nestabilities Labels 8 die (swoon), my new Stampers Anonymous sentiments (mmmm), and my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch, which i have been coveting for a few months. yay for 50% off coupons! 5 bucks!

so here's the challenge - get your entries in by SUNDAY at midnight EST for your chance to win my Grunge-alicious prize pack! projects must be created NEW for the challenge, and you MUST link back to Design Dollies in your blog post. :) have fun!

and tonight wraps up the February Crop in my Cafe Mom group - there were lots of fun challenges, and i found myself with a little extra time to myself this weekend, so what's a crafty gal to do but GET CRAFTY?!

this one was for the "Pucker Up!" challenge - to incorporate the colours red and yellow, and three images/sentiments/whatever that imply kissing or puckering. my photo, the white lips at the bottom right of the photo, and the words "lips" and "kisses"...

plain ORANGE chipboard letters, sanded down, painted with metallic red watercolours, then coated with glossy accents (they look cooler in person, but i dare you to click to enlarge!)

i'd like to take a moment to express my utter frustration for the 8x8 scrapbooks that really do NOT accommodate 8x8 pages. i've been good about remembering to trim my pages down before getting to work on my layouts, but for this one, i forgot. i ended up having to slice off a good half inch from all sides to get it to fit. ARGH! so i don't like it quite as much as i did when it was originally "finished". meh!

anywho.
we still have our Dollie Call - running until March 10th! wanna play with Dollies? we'd love to hear from you!

and go over to Sketchy Thursdays to vote for your favourite layout, if you haven't already! i'm in the running, but there are some great entries, and i encourage you to vote for your fave of the five! :)

back tomorrow to show you some cards, and to bring you the new Elements Challenge at Design Dollies. there's still time to play along with the Elements Challenge (honouring a special woman in your life) - due tonight by midnight, and the Sketch Challenge - this one was a favourite of mine - due Wednesday by midnight! :)

  1. I absolutely LOVE that card to pieces! And guess what, a couple days ago I ordered my very first spellbinders die. What did I get...um...geesh, why can't I remember (it's not because of the wine, I swear). Oh, right, timeless something (a key, clock, buttons etc.). Can't wait to try it in my Sizzix. That's not really why I'm here, it's to commend you on your yummeh projects. I'm going to give this challenge a shot since I love these colors. Wish me luck...ha!

Oh yeah, glad someone else out there got the RD reference...I was totally tee heeing from the other room when I heard it. :)

  2. I hope that you get to feeling better soon! The rain makes my body ache too, it's just awful! Maybe we will see Spring soon, sigh! I love that saying on the first photo, it is so true!! Well, I hope that you have a better tomorrow!

  4. oof you've hit on the HUUUUUUGE frustration i felt making books for the nieces: 12x12 pages are not 12x12 either!!!!!!!!!! a fact i DID NOT KNOW until i was several pages into riley's...and the trimming was NOT a pleasant experience! (...i'm still havin' flashbacks...)

having said that, i assume your pics are the "before" b/c i cannot see where they look smooshed or in anyway less than optimum here! (& i love♥LOVE♥loooooove those letters!) (i gotta paint & play with some chipboard tonight.) (seriously!)

i adore the card. BIG-TIME!!! well, you cannot go wrong with labels 8, imo, and the martha butterflies are indisputably awesome. but then the main thing is the organizational flair what pulls all the elements together, innit?! (& you've *GOT IT* baby!!!) :)
